East Greenwich Irregular Hip Historic Garage. An Irregular hip (or bastard hip) is framed with different roof pitches on the sides as opposed to the front and back. This is done to elongate the ridge or to keep building elevations (ridge height) low. They are not as common as a conventional hip due to the difficulty in cutting and framing them but oddly we have framed several versions of them in the past few years. Finishing touches going on soon.
