🏡 Closing Day Is Here! What Happens Next? 🏡
Closing day is one of the most exciting days in the home buying and selling process. It’s the day ownership officially transfers from the seller to the buyer—but there are still a few important steps before those keys change hands!
🔑 The Final Walk-Through
Typically completed within 24 hours of closing, the final walk-through is the buyer’s opportunity to make sure the home is in the condition agreed upon in the purchase agreement.
During the walk-through, we verify:
✔️ Any negotiated repairs have been completed
✔️ Appliances and fixtures included in the sale are still in the home
✔️ No unexpected damage has occurred since the inspection
✔️ The property is vacant (unless otherwise agreed upon)
The final walk-through is not another inspection—it’s the buyer’s chance to ensure everything is exactly as expected before signing the final documents.
🖊️ At the Closing Table
Buyers and sellers sign the final paperwork, funds are transferred, documents are recorded, and once everything is complete, the keys can officially be handed over.
❤️ My Favorite Part
As exciting as closing day is, it’s also a little bittersweet for me. After weeks (and sometimes months!) of searching for homes, negotiating offers, answering questions, solving problems, and celebrating milestones together, our journey comes to an end.
I genuinely miss the regular conversations, texts, calls, and time spent with my clients. What starts as a business relationship often becomes a friendship, and that’s one of the things I love most about this career.
The good news? Just because we close doesn’t mean our relationship ends. I’m always here as a resource long after the papers are signed.
