Closing day for Alex!

Alex and I go way back. We used to work together at the credit union and became friends along the way, so I was really grateful when he trusted me to help sell the home he’s owned for over a decade.

We made some adjustments along the way, Alex was always willing to do what needed to be done, and it all paid off. Today, that SOLD sign is official!

🏡 Closing day for Bryan & Sue!

These two came to me as a referral from another agent as they prepared to make the move from Wisconsin to Illinois, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!

They found the perfect ranch home for them in a quiet little town just a hop, skip and a jump from the Quad Cities. From coordinating showings from a distance, to inspections, repairs and everything in between, the entire process went so smoothly.

We were fortunate to work with a very reasonable seller who made sure the things that were important to Bryan & Sue were taken care of so they could move in feeling comfortable, safe and confident in their new home. It really was a great transaction all around.

Homecoming week at UT! 🧡🖤

UT has been part of my life for a long time. First as a student, now as a mom of a freshman cheerleader, and today as a local business owner who gets to give back to the school I graduated from.

I’m proud to support the UT Booster Club as a Grand Panther Sponsor. The Booster Club does so much behind the scenes to support our students, athletics, activities and programs. Those memberships, sponsorships and fundraisers help provide opportunities and experiences for our kids, and I love being able to give back to the school and community that I grew up in and that my kids are now growing up in.

Getting to watch Bailee cheer during her first high school Homecoming week has been so much fun. And seeing my business banner hanging in the gym while my own freshman is down there cheering is pretty dang cool. 🥹🧡

🏡 Thinking about buying a home, but not sure if your credit is “good enough”?

Your credit plays a role in getting a mortgage, but there isn’t one magic score you have to hit before you’re allowed to start the conversation.

Different loan programs have different requirements, and your credit score is only one piece of the overall picture. Your income, debts, down payment, loan type, and other factors can all come into play.

And if your credit isn’t quite where it needs to be yet? That doesn’t necessarily mean no. Sometimes it just means not yet, and knowing what to work on now can put you in a much better position when you’re ready.

A few things you can do before applying:
✅ Pay bills on time
✅ Keep credit card balances low
✅ Avoid opening several new accounts at once
✅ Review your credit report for errors
✅ Talk to a lender before making big financial changes

One of the biggest mistakes I see potential buyers make is waiting until they think everything is “perfect” before reaching out. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Did you know a couple of our local REALTORS® are also published children’s book authors? 🥹📚

Troy and Barb Muilenburg of Muilenburg Partners, Realtor, Exp Realty LLC licensed IA & IL are the authors of Silly Zoo Is All I Can Say and Mommy Loves Baby.

These books were gifted to us by a family friend after Kennedy was born, and they have been two of her absolute favorites ever since. You can definitely tell how well-loved they are by the worn seams and edges. 😂❤️

Back in June, I had the pleasure of working a real estate transaction with Troy. At closing, we got to chatting about the books and how much Kennedy loves them. He shared that his own daughter loved singing Mommy Loves Baby when she was little, and he was kind enough to sign Kennedy’s copies for her. 🥹

I just thought it was such a cool little full-circle moment. These books have been part of our home since Kennedy was a baby, and then somehow real estate brought me across the closing table from the person who wrote them.

Now her already well-loved books have an even sweeter story behind them. ❤️📚✨
