A few weeks ago, I met these first-time homebuyers after they had been left feeling frustrated and discouraged by their home search experience. We connected, put together a plan, and got to work.

Since then, we’ve focused on what I believe every buyer deserves: communication, follow-through, honesty, and having someone in their corner throughout the process.

This one required a little extra patience. Because court approval was involved, the offer process took a little longer than usual, but they stayed positive, trusted the process, and today we’re officially UNDER CONTRACT! 📝

Now the real work begins as we move through inspections, financing, and all the steps between contract and closing.

This family 🫶🏻

I don’t even know where to start.

Dustin and Allison reached out to me while planning their move back to the Quad Cities. Like a lot of buyers, they had already experienced some frustration and weren’t feeling very supported in the process. From our first conversation, I knew I wanted to help make this move happen for them.

Today, Kim officially became a homeowner!

This journey definitely had its challenges along the way. From navigating rejected offers and tough negotiations to working through inspections and repairs, there were plenty of moving pieces. But today is proof that persistence, patience, and keeping your eyes on the end goal can pay off.

While not every part of the process was easy, I'm so excited that we found a home that Kim loves and were able to reach agreements that allowed her to move forward feeling comfortable and confident in her purchase.

One of my favorite parts of this job is helping clients get from "just looking" to sitting at the closing table with keys in hand, and today we got to do exactly that.

WELCOME HOME, KAREN & CORBIN! 🏡🎉

It’s been a very long closing day, but it’s official... Karen and Corbin are homeowners!

After making the decision to relocate from Georgia back to the Quad Cities, they can finally begin this exciting new chapter closer to family and familiar faces. While today’s closing tested everyone’s patience and kept us waiting until the very end, seeing them get the keys made it all worthwhile.

As both their REALTOR® and family, this one is especially meaningful to me. I’m so excited to have them back in the Quad Cities and looking forward to all the extra time we’ll get to spend together. The girls are especially excited to have Grandma and Grandpa nearby and not just a phone call away.

After what felt like the longest week ever, we are officially CLOSED and I don't think anyone involved could be more relieved!

Dustin first reached out to me back in February with a goal of relocating his family from Indiana to the Quad Cities to be closer to family. Since then, we've been on quite the journey together.

We looked at several possibilities, navigated months of uncertainty with a For Sale By Owner property that ultimately wasn't meant to be, and eventually found the home that checked the boxes that mattered most: space for their growing family, beautiful land, and a location close to loved ones.

Today, Dustin and Allison, along with their two boys and sweet baby girl, officially get to start this next chapter.

I'd be lying if I said the last week was easy. This closing was part of a three-transaction domino effect that brought plenty of delays, uncertainty, stress, and more emails than I'd like to count. At one point I think all of us were holding our breath waiting for the next update. But we made it.

Seeing the smiles at the closing table today made every obstacle worth it.

Dustin and Allison, thank you for trusting me through every twist, turn, delay, and curveball. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know your family, and I'm so excited to see the memories you'll make on your beautiful new property.

Last week, before school let out for the summer, I got to spend the day chaperoning Hailee's 1st grade field trip to the zoo. ❤️

We both proudly wore our haven. REAL ESTATE gear, and Hailee made sure everyone knew about her haven logo hair bow. I think she may be my biggest supporter. 😊

Moments like these are exactly why I made the leap into real estate.

I'm incredibly grateful for the flexibility that comes with being in charge of my own career. The ability to chaperone a field trip, volunteer in two Junior Achievement classrooms, attend sporting events that start before traditional work hours end, keep my kids home when I want to, or take a family vacation without asking for permission is something I never take for granted.

This career isn't always easy. There are stressful days, late nights, transactions that become far more complicated than expected, the uncertainty that comes with commission-based income, and plenty of ups and downs throughout the offer and closing process.

But getting to help people through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives while still being present for my own family makes every challenge worth it.

These are the moments I'll never get back, and I'm so thankful for a career that allows me to be there for them. 💗

STORY TIME: I actually just represented a buyer who bought a FSBO home listed through a local “FSBO” company. The property had been on the market nearly 3 months if I remember and had a price drop. We came in over asking to accommodate our ask for seller paid concessions. That house appraised for FIFTEEN THOUSAND over what they paid EVEN with them paying over asking. Wanna know what else, that FSBO companies fees to that seller were more than my compensation alone. 🥴 I know this for a fact because I get a copy of both the seller and buyer’s closing disclosures at the closing table that itemizes every single person or item that was paid. Don’t leave money on the table or pay a “FSBO” company to list your property for you on only a couple websites where it’s going to sit for months and you may even end paying the same as what you would’ve if you would’ve hired a listing agent to properly price your asset and market it effectively.
