For those of you who don’t know… my husband and I are building a ski house in Ludlow, VT — with our own two hands! 🏡⛷️🔨

I’ve been (slowly 😂) working backwards on an Instagram page chronicling our journey — from purchasing the land in 2018, through every step of the build, and all the blood, sweat, tears, laughs, frustrations and learning that have gone into it… and will continue until we finally cross that finish line!

One of the questions I get asked all the time is:

“How does your husband know how to build a house?!”

Well… he’s always been incredibly handy, but he’s also an excellent student. 😂

He has spent YEARS watching YouTube builders, studying their projects, learning their tips and tricks, and — perhaps most importantly — watching their mistakes. He reads, researches, studies and then puts it all into practice.

And he has A LOT of patience.
Me? Not so much. 😂

There’s definitely been some trial and error along the way, but we’re learning as we go and doing our best to get it right.

Building a house from the ground up has also given me an entirely new appreciation and understanding of all the many parts, pieces, systems and details that go into a home.

As a Realtor®, that hands-on experience has strengthened my knowledge tremendously and has given me an even better perspective when helping my clients their navigate their own home and real estate journey.

So… if you’ve ever wondered what I do when I’m not selling houses… apparently, I’m building one. 😆🔨🏡
