As the sunlight drapes across stone monuments and folded flags, I’m reminded that Memorial Day is a quiet contradiction of gratitude and grief.
Some Americans gave their youth. Some Americans gave their tomorrows. All of them gave much more than can ever be measured. Today, as a nation, we pause and reflect in honor of those men and women who fell in the name of liberty so that we could stand in the name of freedom.
Let us never forget these sacrifices or ever let them become so woven into our lives we stop seeing them, even though they surround us every day. 🇺🇸
