Today marks Ethan Kissinger working with us for five years!
At the time of his hire, I was pulling out my hair with frustration as we were going through a rough patch of keeping good, consistent help. We were in dire need of help for our growing business and a busy upcoming schedule. I was exhausted of job interviews and the hiring process.
Ethan was sent to us from a former employee. I was told he was an able bodied 20 year old man with a valid driverโs license. That was pretty much the only criteria for the job at that point ๐ When I called him for the first time, I told him I didnโt need an interview, just show up on Monday at 7:00am, and donโt be late. I was really banking on him showing up on his first day because we had a huge move planned that day and we didnโt have enough drivers for the amount of trucks we needed to do the move. I had no plan B if he didnโt show. Thankfully he did and had no hesitation when I asked if he can drive our smallest box truck that day.
Ethan originally started with us as an โas neededโ part time employee with plans to work with us until he started a new job elsewhere at one of the warehouses.
As weeks and months went by, it was clear he wasnโt starting anywhere else and eventually came on full time.
With more time and experience, he became Reliable Movingโs first official job foreman, running crews on his own without me having to be on site. This is something I never thought would ever happen.
In time, he also became our first ever job estimator, along with taking over our salvage sales department from cleanouts and junk removal.
Over the years, there were times that he single handedly staffed our entire operation with friends and family members of his. Recently, after running out of friends and family to fill positions, I put him in charge of hiring and job interviews through Indeed which was a huge relief for me. Heโs also taken on other various administrative work in the office too.
We are very thankful for him and all he does for this company. Iโm also very thankful that Reilly Peiffer decided to send me his contact that day! ๐
