I am volunteering to raise funds and awareness for Open Arts Alliance. Open Arts Alliance, is a 501(c) (3) non-profit social service organization that uses the performing arts to bridge the gap between the youngest and eldest members of our community. Through our programming for senior citizens and children, OAA is able to bring art to underserved populations throughout Connecticut.
Open Arts Alliance works with students who are in high-risk situations as well as senior citizens who have mobility issues, cognitive deficits and dementia. OAA's educational programs for schools use theatre to speak to students about personal wellness, bullying and making positive choices, while our senior outreach visits nursing homes, hospitals and rehabilitation facilities to combat dementia, Alzheimer's Disease and depression.
