Quality and affordable childcare and preschool education in Preble County needs our help! Because of the high cost to parents, most centers barely "get by" and we don't have enough centers to provide our littlest children the education they need. Advocates are asking for MORE funding, not less. We LOVE our children- HELP THEM GROW! You can learn about the importance of early childhood education and opportunities for the state to help at Groundworks Ohio.

Following the release of the FY24-25 Budget Bill, Groundwork Ohio is disappointed to share that the amended House Bill 33 represents cuts to child care and cuts to the Governor's proposed budget. CONGRATULATIONS to Star Theatre at Eagles Point on being the recipient of the 2022 COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT AWARD at the Preble County Chamber of Commerce 40th Annual Awards Gala held on January 26 at Wilderness Ridge Retreat Center.

The Star Theatre is part of the historic renovation of the former Eaton High School. The facility can seat over 300 people and is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and projection equipment. In addition to first-run movies, The Star serves as a venue for live performances, concerts, and other community events. The award was accepted by Vicky Fanberg, Vice President of Development at PositivePoints.

Other finalists for this award were City of Eaton Maintenance Department and the Village of Camden, Ohio

Opening for Program Director for The Star Theatre and Gymnasium at Eagle’s Point

Positive Points is looking for an energetic individual to lead programming at The Star Theatre and Gymnasium at Eagle’s Point in Eaton, Ohio. The Director position is an opportunity for an individual to create programs that enhance the quality of life for Preble County residents. This position is both strategic and tactical and will work closely with the Vice President of Development and President of Positive Points. The Director will be a core team member with essential responsibilities in our facility-based programs and services, working under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Development. The Director will lead operating, marketing, customer and business development efforts while creating new strategies to reach and retain patrons and audience members. The director will have a core role in ensuring the quality of operations, which are foundational to programming and growth.

Development and ex*****on of programs include first run and classic movies as well as music, lectures, rentals, club sports, conferences and more. Both properties are inside of Eagle’s Point, a redevelopment of the historic Eaton High School. Our Star Theatre at Eagle’s Point been nominated in the Community Improvement category for the annual Preble County Chamber of Commerce awards. We are proud to contribute to the quality of life of the community!

Congratulations to Star Theatre at Eagles Point on being selected as a finalist for the Community Improvement Award in recognition of distinguished contributions to the Preble County community.

The winner of the award will be announced at the Preble County Chamber of Commerce 40th Annual Awards Gala sponsored by Reid Health and Kettering Health

The Gala will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 6:00 PM at Wilderness Ridge Retreat Center, 1259 Swann Beatty Road, Camden.

We had to push pause! MOVIE OPENING DELAYED
The plan to open The Star Theatre at Eagle’s point on Thursday, August 11, has been delayed. The sound system was compromised by a technical failure and crews are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. The Star has decided to postpone the opening to ensure guests will have the best possible experience at the theater and can enjoy our state of the art facility. A new date has not yet been announced and will be communicated as soon as possible. This will not affect upcoming concerts scheduled at the theater as they use a separate sound system. Upcoming concerts include; The Airforce Band of Flight, August 25th and Twitty and Lynn on September 14.

The Star Theatre at Eagle’s Point has state of the art audio and visual set to bring first run movies to Preble County with the complete cinematic experience. The theater is located at 310 N. Barron St. in Eaton. OH. More information about the theater can be found at www.eatonstartheatre.com
