I haven’t posted here for a while but I guess I should update everyone as to why. On 6/30/25 I had an EGD done at UPMC Presby. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Gastro-esophageal cancer. I have been in and out of the hospital once then, completely losing my strength during one of those stays that left me unable to move on my own. I have since escrowed my license since I cannot work or drive. Thanks to PT and OT, I am doing much better on the moving part and got back to being able to move around on my own. I use a walker at home and a transport chair to get around when out and about. I get an immunotherapy based chemo for 3 weeks at a time, with a week of no chemo in between. I am told this type of cancer is not curable but it is treatable. I am hoping to beat it and get back to the career I love with my ROGL family. But for now, I need to focus on my health.
