With spring cleaning right around the corner, Hennepin County has provided people with a great way swap unused items. Kitchen gadgets, Toys and Outdoor gear. Different dates through March. Check out their site to see if there anything you would like to swap!

Swap-it events are a fun, sustainable way to reduce waste, share resources, build community, and support local reuse efforts. You don’t have to bring anything to take something home. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Show & Tell is an exuberant, interactive exhibition designed specifically for visitors ages 2 to 9. Featuring artworks and films from the Walker’s collection chosen for their kid-friendly subject matter—animals, alphabets, food, miniature worlds, and imaginary creatures—Show & Tell engages young visitors through zones that encourage looking, listening, reading, making, climbing, and playing.

With vibrant graphic and spatial design, the exhibition encourages children to engage their senses and imaginations and to be hands-on with installations and activities inspired by the works of artists such as Andrea Carlson, Katharina Fritsch, Jeffrey Gibson, Caroline Kent, Roy Lichtenstein, and Claes Oldenburg. Show & Tell is the result of cross-disciplinary collaboration across the Walker’s Visual Arts; Moving Image; Design; and Public Engagement, Learning, and Impact teams.

Sometimes when it is cold and snowy it is hard to think of things to do. Growing up here I can say we hate the winters but at the same time love them! Eden Prairie has a lot of parks, every year EP makes ice rinks at some of these parks and they even have a big lit up sledding hill.

But for outside of Eden Prairie there is still lots of fun to be had! There are parks that are set for activities the moment the snow falls! One of my favorite parks is on this list, we go to this park every year for sledding, tubing and snow shoeing (they do have other things as well this is just what I do)

I enjoy Theodore Wirth Regional Park, this is located in MPLS, Golden Valley and Robbinsdale.

In Minnesota, we know winter very well. And we don't mind the cold, because we know there's on such thing as bad weather — only bad clothing.

Winter Hazard Awareness Week.
Now is the time to prepare your car and your home for the winter.

Nov. 17–21 is Winter Hazard Awareness Week, and we’re bringing you the best tips to survive (and maybe even enjoy) winter in true Minnesotan style.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a silent killer. The danger is greater during the winter when doors and windows stay closed and fireplaces, gas heaters or other fuel burning appliances are in use. In addition, people can also be exposed to deadly CO levels when “warming up” their cars in garages or keeping them running when stuck in snow. Install alarms, test monthly and clear snow from vents.
