Occupied Staging Spotlight

2224 W Lake of the Isles Parkway | Minneapolis

Some homes don’t need more furnishings—they need thoughtful editing, professional styling, and a fresh perspective.

For this remarkable Lake of the Isles residence, we were invited to provide an occupied staging consultation and accessory styling in partnership with Jen Kyllonen.

The homeowners have spent years lovingly restoring this historic property and curating an extraordinary collection of fine art, textiles, antiques, and furnishings. Their personal style is impeccable, and our role was not to reinvent the home, but to help showcase it at its absolute best.

Our focus was on guiding the eye toward what makes this property truly irreplaceable: the sweeping Lake of the Isles views, remarkable historic architecture, and beautifully preserved character. We incorporated vintage Turkish rugs, kilim pillows, and carefully selected accessories that felt authentic to the home’s history while enhancing its presentation for photography and showings.

One of the biggest differences between living in a home and marketing a home is understanding the buyer discovery path. Furniture placement, sight lines, and visual flow are adjusted very differently for photography and buyer tours than for everyday comfort. Occupied staging often involves editing collections, refining displays, moving furnishings, and creating intentional moments that help buyers connect emotionally with the home.

The homeowners’ existing textiles, bedding, and furnishings were already exceptional. Our contribution was in the details—steaming linens, refining styling, adjusting scale and placement, editing distractions, and creating a cohesive presentation that allows buyers to appreciate both the home’s history and its lifestyle.

This is authentic staging at its best: honoring the homeowner’s story while helping buyers imagine their own.

Occupied Staging Spotlight 2224 W Lake of the Isles

Some homes don’t need more—they need thoughtful editing.

For this stunning historic Lake of the Isles home, our role was to help showcase what was already extraordinary. With beautifully curated art, collected antiques, exceptional textiles, and years of loving restoration, the goal was to highlight the home’s character while keeping the focus on those rare lake views.

We refined furniture placement, edited collections, styled accessories, steamed linens, and created a buyer discovery path that feels very different from everyday living. Vintage Turkish rugs and kilim pillows helped reinforce the home’s historic personality while maintaining a warm, welcoming feel.

Occupied staging is often less about adding and more about revealing what makes a home special.

Honored to partner with and her wonderful clients on this remarkable property.

SOLD! 1790 Lake St , Lauderdale

A restored mid-century gem—where the best of the past was preserved, and everything else was thoughtfully elevated.

This home struck that rare balance:

A reimagined gourmet kitchen, opened to the living and dining spaces for modern flow
Waterfall marble countertops that feel both current and timeless
A spacious walk-in shower designed for everyday luxury

And still…
Original paneling, rich with warmth and character
Beautiful fireplaces anchoring the home’s architectural story
Expansive windows framing the landscape beyond

Our approach was to lean into the mid-century roots, not compete with them.

Low, well-scaled contemporary furnishings…
Natural materials…
Clean lines…
Beautiful vintage touches like a sunburst clock, antique Turkish rugs and gorgeous BLENKO glass.

All chosen to let the architecture, light, and views take center stage.

Because great homes don’t need more—
they need the right.

Congratulations to the very lucky buyers and to the hardworking seller on a beautiful result.

Some homes are about square footage.
Some are about lifestyle.

And this Longfellow gem is deeply rooted in the kind of South Minneapolis living people dream about.

Just blocks from the Riverview Theater, close to Minnehaha Falls, the river parkway, neighborhood coffee shops, biking trails, and the everyday charm that makes Longfellow such a beloved community — this home feels connected to everything people love about Minneapolis living.

For this project, we wanted the staging to feel personal, warm, and full of imagination.

Rather than creating a “generic” staged home, we leaned into storytelling and personality throughout the spaces.

We created a whimsical mermaid-inspired bedroom and a cheerful Twins room designed to help children immediately connect emotionally to the home — because families don’t just shop with logic, they shop with feeling. Spaces that spark imagination help buyers picture real life unfolding here.

Upstairs, the primary suite became an entirely different experience: calm, quiet, and restorative. We styled the upper level as a peaceful retreat with a soft dressing area, flexible office workspace, and a spacious bedroom suite that feels tucked away from the rest of the home — the kind of space that makes buyers exhale the moment they walk upstairs.

The natural light, refreshed finishes, sunny deck, workshop space, oversized garage, and urban-farm-ready backyard all support the lifestyle this neighborhood is known for: creative, active, connected, and authentic.

This is the kind of house that feels like home before you’ve even finished the tour.
