In November, it will be 4 years since Joni was diagnosed with childhood cancer — (BCORE Sarcoma).💛
In that 1st year, she endured six rounds of chemotherapy, her lifetime maximum dose of the “red devil,” and countless surgeries. She has been through more than any child ever should.
And today, she is a SURVIVOR.🥹💛
I am endlessly grateful for that word. Because the heartbreaking reality is that so many children don’t make it this far.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and I want to use Joni’s story to bring awareness to something that desperately needs more attention:
🎗️ Only about 4% of cancer research funding goes toward childhood cancer.
And for rare childhood cancers like Joni’s,the percentage is even smaller — around 0.02%
These numbers are devastating.
Our kids deserve better treatments, more research, and a future where a cancer diagnosis doesn’t have to mean years of uncertainty, surgeries, chemotherapy, and fear.
If you feel empowered to help, please consider donating to one of the amazing childhood cancer research nonprofits below. Every dollar helps fund research that can give kids like Joni a better chance.
For Joni. For every child fighting. And for the families who never got to say “survivor.”💛🎗️
F**K CANCER.💛
