Hays Take On: Lucia’s at Side Door 🍕
The first of three concepts that Daniel Del Prado has put in next to the fan favorite Dexter’s for quick pick up or outdoor dining. Lucia’s is the first to open and serves up sourdough New York pizzas, slices, and a few other accompaniments!
🪩: Fully connected to Dexter’s off of 50th and Ewing, it’s an easy walk if you’re in the 50th and France area. Inside, it’s quick, it’s easy, and the food comes out speedy. Order online and pick up in store or hop onto one of the quick order kiosks and you’re good to go. With a few tables inside plus outdoor seating, there are plenty of places to enjoy a slice if you aren’t taking it to go.
🍽️: The main attraction is the sourdough crust pizzas, classic New York style pies but also by the slice! A wide variety of toppings, some traditional and some off the wall, it never hurts to mix and match a few slices to get a little bit of everything! First off, on all pizzas, we were blown away by the quality of the slice by slice. Usually that’ll get ruined on a reheat, but the integrity of the crust was phenomenal and tasted like they all came from a fresh pie! Warm, soft ingredients on top, great crunch from the dough. The Marinara and Vodka Upside down do their job perfectly, not overcomplicated, but the right amount of flavor to stand out. The White was fantastic, the mix of cheese really gives it pop while the Hawaiians quality ingredients really made the combo work. You can also snag a delicious and well stuffed chicken Caesar wrap as well as a few classic chocolate chip cookies to satisfy the sweet tooth!
Overall, Lucia’s is the perfect place to swing in for a quick bite, unique slice, or grab full, flavorful pies for a group!
