Yay! It’s Closing Day! I had the privilege of listing 3 lots in the newly formed city of Starbase, TX earlier this year and successfully negotiated & sold those lots today! Congratulations to my sellers and to the new buyer. 🎉🎉

DIY Wednesday Wisdom! Home Hack edition.

1. Pillows Are Dirtier Than a Toilet
Why it's true: Pillows accumulate dead skin cells, dust mites, sweat, and body oils over time.

The Hack: Don't just wash the case. Most pillows (down, polyester, memory foam) can and should be machine-washed every 3-6 months. Check the care label first. Use a gentle cycle with hot water and tumble dry on low with tennis balls or dryer balls to fluff them back up.

2. Wash Walls with Dish Soap
Why it works: Dish soap is a degreaser, designed to cut through grease and grime (like handprints and cooking splatter) without being overly harsh.

The Hack: Mix a few drops of dish soap into a bucket of warm water. Use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth to wash from the bottom up in sections to prevent streaks. Rinse with a separate cloth and clean water.

3. Clean Floors with Vinegar
Why it works: Vinegar is a mild acid that cuts through grease and dissolves mineral deposits and soap scum, leaving floors shiny.

The Hack: For vinyl, laminate, or tile, mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 1 gallon of warm water. Do NOT use vinegar on stone floors (like marble or granite) or waxed wooden floors, as it can damage the finish.

4. Clean Mold with Tea Tree Oil
Why it works: Tea tree oil is a powerful natural antifungal and antibacterial agent that kills mold spores at the root.

The Hack: Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil with 1 cup of water in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray generously on the moldy area (e.g., shower caulk). Let it sit for at least an hour, then scrub and wipe. The smell will dissipate in a day.

June (Listing Agent) and I (Buyer Rep) had a deal under contract in May which should’ve closed before July 4th. Extension after extension!! 😱Original bank (won’t drop names 🤭) couldn’t get the deal done.

Called Cindy with Fairway Mortgage for 2nd opinion!! 🙏🏻 Not only did she get it done, but did it in record fashion. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Think it only took 8 days. Thankfully, months of hard work paid off. Buyers get their new home before school starts. 🙌🏻

We finally get ourselves together to celebrate this one! Thank you gals. Now let’s find another deal.
