April 19, 1995 is a day Oklahoma will never forget.
I was 11 years old, in 5th grade at Deer Creek Elementary, and I remember our building shaking that morning. Even miles away, many of us felt the impact before we understood what had happened.
My dad was one of the many Oklahomans who quietly went to help that day. He never spoke much about it, like so many who simply showed up and did what was needed.
Today, we honor the 168 lives lost, the survivors, the families forever changed, the first responders, and all those who carried the weight of that day in ways seen and unseen.
We remember the strength, compassion, and resilience that defined Oklahoma City in the days that followed.
We will never forget.
