One of my Best Friend’s who is a realtor in the Ft. Worth area just wrote the following, which explains very well what a realtor does for their clients:
Let’s Talk About Something Most People Don’t Realize 👇
When you hire a realtor, you’re hiring someone who doesn’t get paid unless and until the deal actually closes. That means...
• All the time spent researching properties and market conditions: simply part of the process
• Driving to showings, often 30+ minutes away (multiple times a week): part of the process
• Writing offers, reviewing contracts, negotiating terms: part of the process
• Nights, weekends, and last-minute calls: still part of the process
• Guiding you through inspections, appraisals, repairs, delays, and lender hurdles: all part of the process
We can work with a client for weeks or months, only for the deal to fall apart at the finish line. And in that moment, everything we’ve invested... time, gas, expertise, and emotional energy, has still been part of the process.
This isn’t a complaint. It’s just the reality of how our profession works. And truthfully? Most of us are here because we LOVE helping people make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
So next time someone asks, "What’s the real value you’re investing in when you pay a Realtor?"
Just remember: it’s not about showing up once.
We get paid for showing up every time, through every showing, every setback, every negotiation, and every late-night call... until the keys are in your hand.
💛 If you’re working with a realtor who’s giving it their all, say thank you. We’re not just opening doors, we’re opening opportunities.
