Happy heavenly birthday to my mama. She used to love these posts about her so here it is. Hope she sees it. I miss you every second of every day. She would always make sure my birthday was special and would bake a cake and cupcakes. Hope you and dad are enjoying life up there.

This is my dad, Augestin. And just like this picture, he was always smiling and cracking jokes. I get my sense of humor from him. When my mom passed away on New Year’s Day it was the beginning of a new chapter for him. Unfamiliar territory. My dad is 12 years older than my mom and always thought he’d go first. When that didn’t happen he didn’t know what to do with himself. My mom did everything (except for take care of the garden and taxes) so I had to fill in along with my brother and sister in law to take care of him and make sure he was good. He didn’t need much as he was still physically good but some of the day to day we had to fill in to take care of. It was working. We had a new system. We were finally turning the corner after my mom’s death and had a system. Me and my mom were very close so after she went me and my dad started to form a new bond. We were smiling again, we took a trip to Detroit (which he had so much fun hanging out with his brother and nephews and niece) and we also had another trip planned to Mexico City which I recently booked. We were starting to find new life after mom. Until the worst imaginable thing happened. On his way back from Sunday church (a walk he has done hundreds of times) he was tragically hit by a careless and selfish driver. That was the worst day of my life. He didn’t make it and now we are looking for who did it. The driver pulled over briefly to confront my dad and bystanders saying he jumped in front of his car and took off. A witness tried to stop the driver but couldn’t catch him. I hope this person knows what he took away from us. He doesn’t know our back story and what me and my family have been through. Maybe he would have stopped if he’d known what we’ve been through. Stopped and helped and called the ambulance right away to save my father’s life. What kind of human being does this? I really hope he turns himself in. The reason I post this is to tell you to cherish the moments with your loved ones. It is all we have once they are gone. I’ll never forget the many memories we had. Even this simple day we went to run errands and grab in-n-out after. Cherish them. Life is short. Have many memories. Many many

Services for my father will be heald Friday September 6th starting with funeral service at St. Peter’s Chaldean Catholic Church (1627 Jamacha Way, El Cajon, CA 92019) @ 11am then to Holy Cross Cemetery (4470 Hilltop Dr
San Diego, CA 92102) followed by mercy meal and condolences at Royal Palace (1340 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021) until 6pm

💔It still feels like a bad dream. My laughing buddy, the person I get my sense of humor and laugh from, my dad tragically passed away today. There are no words but feeling comfort that he’s with the love of his life my mom now. Together forever. We had a trip planned next month to the pilgrimage in Mexico City and I will still go in his honor. I’m just crushed. We were so excited for this trip. Thank you to everyone that has reached out. Being with family and friends means the world to me. Service days and times to follow on my story.
