P&Z voted "YES" for new housing and growth in El Campo. In May, we meet w City Council to get finally approval before moving forward. Thank you all for your support and making your voices heard! We hope to break ground by early 2022 and have the first units available by late 2022!

With eight stipulations attached, El Campo’s Planning & Zoning Commission finally gave its blessing Wednesday to a proposed West Loop apartment complex.

Sadly 😭, our project was DENIED its rezoning application and we are appealing the decision at city council on Dec 21. A link to the video recording of the presentation we gave to Planning and Zoning is below. KEY FACTS about this project include:
[1] It will enable El Campo to grow by providing housing for the jobs it’s trying to attract (more jobs = more opportunities = more money for all)
[2] It's built in phases with only phase 1 (206 units) starting now (phase 2 may never happen and will depend on success of phase 1)
[3] it is not low income housing
[4] it's located in the area the city designated for apartments in the Comprehensive Plan (which the City spent $125k on Land Planning consultants updating with input from over 300 residents and the City Council voted to approve in 2017) and
[5] it was unanimously recommended for APPROVAL by the planning and zoning staff.
We are trying to bring something great to El Campo but we can't do it without your support. See video for instructions on how you can help.
