For Sky Allgayer, giving back means supporting the kids and families in our community through ASAP — After School Activities Program. 💙

ASAP is dedicated to providing children with opportunities to learn, grow, stay active, and build meaningful relationships through activities outside of the traditional school day.

🎨 What does ASAP provide?

ASAP helps give local children access to after-school activities, enrichment opportunities, and experiences that encourage them to explore their interests, develop new skills, and make lasting connections.

❤️ JLA CAN DAY | RACHAEL PIEPRZYCA ❤️

For JLA CAN Day, Rachael Pieprzyca has chosen to support a local family who recently experienced an unimaginable loss.
On August 9, 2026, the Kocurek family lost everything in a house fire. Now, they are faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up while caring for their three young boys — Kane, Kooper, and Kole.

But this is exactly what community is all about. ❤️
In just 10 days, their fundraiser has already reached nearly 89% of its goal, an incredible reminder of what can happen when people come together to take care of their own.

For Rachael, supporting the Kocurek family is what JLA CAN Day represents — seeing a need within the community and choosing to step up, lend a hand, and remind a family that they don't have to face a difficult season alone.

🏡 They may have lost their house and belongings, but they haven't lost the community standing behind them.

For Amanda Bures, giving back means investing in the students, teachers, and future of the community she calls home through the Ganado Education Foundation (GEF). ❤️

Amanda currently serves as President of the Ganado Education Foundation and is actively involved throughout the year, helping support programs and create opportunities that go beyond what traditional school funding can provide.

📚 What does GEF do for our community?

GEF works to give back directly to Ganado ISD students and teachers through:

🎓 Scholarships for graduating seniors

🍎 Teacher grants that help bring new resources, experiences, and ideas into the classroom

🏆 Academic Achievement Awards recognizing students for their hard work and accomplishments

💡 Educational programs like Adulting 101 that help prepare students for life beyond the classroom

🤝 Networking opportunities that connect students with local professionals, businesses, and community members—giving them exposure to different industries and helping them begin thinking about a career path that fits their interests and goals

🎒 School supplies to help students and families start the school year prepared

❤️ Fundraisers like Bubba Bingo, which bring our community together while raising money that goes right back into our schools

💙 JLA CAN DAY | Agent Spotlight: Lin Hutzenbiler 💙

For Lin Hutzenbiler, giving back means helping provide comfort, support, and a little sense of normalcy to children who are facing some of the most difficult circumstances through The Rainbow Room of Wharton and Matagorda Counties. ❤️

🌈 What is The Rainbow Room?

The Rainbow Room is a community-supported resource that helps provide immediate necessities to children who come into the care of Child Protective Services. These children may arrive with little or nothing of their own, often during an already overwhelming and uncertain time.

Through the generosity of the community, The Rainbow Room provides items such as:

👕 Clothing and shoes
🧸 Comfort items and toys
🧴 Personal hygiene necessities
🎒 School supplies
🍼 Infant and toddler essentials
❤️ Other basic needs to help children feel cared for and supported

For Lin, supporting The Rainbow Room is about more than donating items. It’s about coming together as a community to make sure a child knows they are not forgotten.

Sometimes giving back looks like a big fundraiser. Sometimes it’s donating something as simple as a new pair of shoes, a backpack, or a comforting stuffed animal. But to a child who needs it, those small acts of kindness can make a very big difference. 🌈
