Three babies. Five homes. Two heartbreaks before the holidays.
And then … a home run.
We first met this family during Covid. They were renting in the neighborhood they loved, walking the streets in the evenings with two little ones and a baby on the way. When I knocked their door to drop off my newsletter, I found out they didn’t just want to buy … they wanted this neighborhood.
What followed was one of the most emotional searches I’ve been a part of.
We saw five or six homes come available. Two had the exact floor plan they’d been dreaming of. When they were finally ready to pull the trigger, we lost to a buyer who came in $25,000 over asking … and whose agent gave up their own commission to sweeten the deal for the seller. There was nothing more we could do.
We weren’t done.
Two more offers. Two more losses because of budget … neither on the floor plan they wanted. I had the hard job of delivering that news before Christmas. And then again before New Year’s.
Four months later … a coming soon sign went up on the house. The pain was still fresh, so we moved fast and aggressively. We went straight to the listing agent, who happened to be the seller. We negotiated terms that made sense for everyone.
They close with the floor plan they always wanted, at a price that worked, with a third baby, a boy, now in the family.
This is why we do this work.
If you’re thinking about buying or selling, I’d love to be in your corner. 🏡
