Life after losing your Mom
never feels the same.
You still wake up in the morning.
You still go through your day.
You still smile sometimes,
laugh sometimes,
and pretend you are okay.
But deep down,
there is a part of you
that never stopped hurting.
Because when your Mom dies,
something inside of you changes forever.
The world keeps moving,
but your heart feels stuck
in the moment you lost her.
You start missing
the little things the most.
The sound of her voice.
The way she said your name.
The way she asked
if you had eaten.
The way she worried about you
even when she was the one who needed care.
You miss the ordinary moments
that once felt so small.
The random phone calls.
The hugs you thought
you would always have.
The simple comfort
of knowing she was there.
There are days
when the grief hits out of nowhere.
A song.
A smell.
A holiday.
A memory.
And suddenly,
you are right back in that pain again.
Because losing your Mom
is not something you ever “get over.”
You simply learn how to carry
the heartbreak with you.
You learn how to keep going
while carrying a sadness
that never fully leaves.
And even after all this time,
there are still moments
when all you want
is one more hug,
one more conversation,
one more chance
to tell her how much you love her.
