Had a TON of fun hosting a treat station at the West Side Adoption Center in collaboration with RESCUE RUNNERS. 🐶The mission is to help recruit volunteers to help run and walk shelter dogs. This allows for the dogs to get out of the kennels for exercise, to have fun and allow for their personalities to be showcased with the ultimate goal of increasing fostering & adoptions.
Encouraging adoptions and fostering has always been close to my heart but my involvement to fully adopt was limited due to my living situation. In the last year I was able to get out of my rental unit (which did not permit dogs over 30lbs or certain breeds) and I moved into a Home. This is a space that has no rules regarding specific breeds and no weight limit for these breeds because it is my own space. I immediately adopted my large breed Lucky who is a lab mix, then months later my pitbull mix Guinness & most recently my quickly growing large breed Stout, my lab/pit mix. If you don’t believe you can contribute to helping these pups because you don’t have a home yet to foster or adopt, you absolutely still can by participating in these walks for the pups. Along the way, if you fall in love with one of the pups in the shelter and don’t have a home to adopt them into, I can help you find the home that best suites you, your family and your adopted pets 🐕🦺🖤✨
