Jonathan’s story isn’t one of overnight success. It’s about commitment, sacrifice, and what happens when life forces you to bet on yourself.

Before real estate, Jonathan worked at a mattress store. He had purchased an online real estate course, but progress was slow. Knowing he was serious about changing his life, he made a bold move: he quit his job and enrolled in an intensive six-week real estate program that ran Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

To support himself, he picked up a bartending job at night.

Then life threw him a curveball.

As Jonathan shares in this episode, he was eventually let go from the bartending job. He jokes now that he didn’t choose to burn the boats—the boats were burned for him.

With no safety net or backup plan, he had no choice but to go all in on real estate.

He adapted, stayed committed, and kept moving forward.

When asked what she loves most about living in Southern New Mexico, Carmen shared her appreciation for the strong sense of community, the beautiful desert sunsets, and the slower pace of life while still having endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Above all, she loves the welcoming people and the feeling of connection that makes Las Cruces feel like home.

Before transitioning into real estate, Carmen worked at La Clinica de Familia, where she developed valuable experience in communication, customer service, and problem solving. Those skills now help guide her clients through every step of the buying and selling process.

Before becoming one of the top agents in New Mexico, Alex was serving the Las Cruces community as a police officer — working overtime, nights, weekends, and grinding nonstop trying to build a better future for his family. A friend suggested he look into real estate, and once he got in… it took off.

Eventually, Alex made the leap to focus on real estate full-time and took a leave of absence from the force. His business exploded. But despite the success, he still felt a calling. He missed the brotherhood. He missed serving. He felt like he had unfinished business with his chief and department.

So while his real estate career was already on fire, he made the decision most people never would: He went BACK to law enforcement.

For nearly two more years, Alex balanced both careers at a level that would break most people. Until eventually he realized something powerful — he could not fully become the best husband, the best father, and the best version of himself while trying to divide all of his time and energy between two demanding callings.

That realization ultimately led to his recent retirement from law enforcement and full commitment to his family, his future, and the business he had already proven he could dominate.

This Memorial Day, all of us at Home Pros Real Estate Group and the Home Pros Family of Companies pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country. Because of their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice, we are blessed with the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every single day.

As many of our hundreds of agents across Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado spend time this weekend with family, friends, and loved ones kicking off the summer season, we will never forget those who gave everything so we could live freely and pursue the American Dream.

In observance of Memorial Day, our offices will be closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday during normal business hours. However, our commitment to serving our clients never stops. Agents across all of our markets will still be available, working with buyers and sellers, hosting open houses, and helping families achieve homeownership.

Born and raised right here in El Paso, Kenneth has deep roots in the Borderland and a strong appreciation for the people, culture, and atmosphere that make this community unlike anywhere else.

Before transitioning into real estate, Kenneth built an impressive background in both sales and marketing, serving as a Regional Sales Development Manager as well as spending several years as a Marketing and Sales Manager for a home builder. Those experiences helped shape his passion for leadership, communication, and helping people navigate major life decisions.

Kenneth shared that what he loves most about real estate is the opportunity to help others achieve their dreams — whether that’s becoming homeowners, growing as investors, or accomplishing goals they once thought were impossible.
