We are in the early stages of planning a mixed-use project in the Upper Valley that will have stores, restaurants and apartments. It has an 1,872 square foot house currently leased, and it comes with 1.56 acres of land. It’s listed at only $375,000. This place could be a hobby person’s dream shop. It was an honor to work with a brother and sister on articulating a concept for the place they grew up in the lower valley. It’s a vacant parcel now and they would like to get a long term ground lease. The concept attempts to reflect their love for the area. It could be a cool place to hangout.

I've had a chance to do some concept drawings for a special piece of property in the upper valley. It has direct access to the river in Canutillo. It also has existing buildings and other apparatus that can be re-purposed. People would be able to come and swim, picnic, or do tent or RV camping, There could be weekend entertainment, a farmers market, art shows, flea markets. A couple of stores maybe. There will also be a few permanent residences.

I had a chance to work with Neal Locke and Vicki Black Walker on a project for First Presbyterian Church of El Paso. They wanted ideas on how they could adapt the church property to expand their reach into the community, and the community into the church. This church is already doing very progressive activities, but a redo of their campus is a big step. We came up with a concept that was presented to the Board of Trustees for them to start thinking about. We will also get them more information so they can make a decision later in the year. I think it has very exciting possibilities.

I have had the pleasure of working with Roger Ellison on helping figure out what to do with his family's property in Sierra Blanca, Texas. This property has been in the family for over 100 years. There is an estate sale June 1 you might want to attend. They have LOTS of stuff that has accumulated over the decades. I suspect there will be bargains. I also suspect there are some hidden treasures.
You can also see the property while you are there. We have a development plan you may want to invest in. It gives a great return, plus it achieves even greater returns if you believe in the ideals of the development.

I have grown to really like Mid Century Modern and am embarrassed to admit that I didn't realize it was a design style until 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe it's an age thing.
But this house is really nice and still retains some of the elements that make MCM unique. Check out the original bathrooms, and some of the built-ins.

Some of my happiest times in my life was when I was making places. I would take my truck and just go all over the land, looking at places, outcroppings, plains, mountains, lakes, rivers. Sometimes I would decide to build a house, and a barn and I would get some animals. Sometimes the house would be built into the side of the hill, sometimes it would be in the middle of the forest, sometimes out on the open plains. Sometimes in a neighborhood.
Sometimes I would build a town. And then I would get in my airplane and fly over my town and my ranches, and I would go visit other towns.
And then I would have to go home. So I would put my plane and my trucks and my houses and my buildings and my animals in my cardboard box and go inside.
