The 2026 A*H*I was two glorious days aboard the Islander Sportfishing with a boat full of degenerates, 10-12 ft swells, and just enough yellowtail action on the sinker rig to keep everyone out of trouble. Huge thanks to the captains Tyler Fries and Justin Silva + crew for grinding in not ideal conditions to put us on some very nice grade fish. Great boat, great food, great people, and the kind of trip that already has us daydreaming for the next A*H*I, or The Gentleman’s Charter.

Chapter seven of the A*H*I — The Gentleman’s Charter is in the books. Once a year, this irrefragable group of pelagic species slayers gets together for a trip offshore. This year did not disappoint. The guys were able to harvest limits of sushi grade bluefin tuna, soak a few suds and enjoy a few laughs. Lots of prizes were given out, and the general bonhomie on board was top drawer. Special thanks to the captain and crew of for putting us on the meat, and keeping us well fed. Tight lines!

Paris, a blur of wet streets and the smell of bread and to***co. Lorient/Moëlan-sur-Mer with Anne-Laure & the Tanguys - voices rising like tidewater in the kitchen. Marseille where the light bent and clung to the stones, laughing with Laurent and Raia, while the Mistral howls. Corsica all salt skin and the slow, endless blue. We moved through it as if the days were a single afternoon, the edges soft, the air warm, the sea waiting. The pastis still lingers on the palate. Our France adventure 2025.

Epic 1.5 day on catching great grade bluefin tuna. I have to tip my cap to the captain for sticking with it to put us on the meat with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
