If we’re being honest here… For Sale By Owner ( ) is totally like trying to fold a fitted sheet.

You think you know what you’re doing until you go to do it, and it ends in a crumpled mess no matter how hard you try. 😅

The solution? Hire a real estate agent who is an expert at what they do. 😉

There’s a question asked all the time. “Should I sell my home before I invest in a new home?”

The expert advice? ⬇️

It depends on your situation.

It might not be the clear answer you were hoping for, but here’s an explanation that might make the decision more straightforward:

If you need access to your home’s equity to buy your new piece of property, selling your home first can help! Especially if you’re in a buyer’s market, (when there are more buyers than houses on the market), selling before buying can make more sense because prices are relatively lower.

However, there’s a caveat to this. If you sell first, you’ll need temporary housing while you wait for your new home to be finalized.

So it depends on what your priorities are and what your situation looks like!

Moving with pets can add an extra challenge, but one that is definitely worth it for your fur baby!

Here are a few tips and tricks to make moving with your pet easy and comfortable for everyone:

🐾 Make arrangements for moving day. That might mean putting your pet in a pet daycare for a couple of days or having a friend or family member transport your pet to your new home.

🐾 Get a check-up. You want to make sure that your pet has good health!

🐾 Stick to a schedule. Rushing may cause your pet to get stressed and you may also forget some steps in the process! Schedule out your day so you always know what comes next.

🐾 Create a safe space for them to settle in. Moving day can be a stressful day for a pet because of all the commotion and also moving into a brand new place. Make them feel at home by putting all their favorite blankets and toys in a spot in your new home.

Do you have any other tips you’ve found helped your pet(s) as you moved?

So, you’re getting ready to move. And it’s understandable if just the thought of it is making you feel overwhelmed already! No one loves moving day. 😉

But have no despair — here are 3 simple yet effective to make it much more “tackle-able”!

1️⃣ Pack early. Even though it sounds obvious, many people put off packing until the last minute! If you can tackle one section of your home at a time, you’ll find yourself less stressed and overwhelmed with the task.

2️⃣ Label boxes. Again, sounds obvious, but in the moment of packing up, it’s easy to forget to label your boxes. So make sure you have your Sharpie out where you can see it! (And no, you will NOT remember the subtle differences in box sizes. 😉)

3️⃣ Donate. When packing, it’s a great opportunity to sift through all your items and donate the things you don’t need anymore. A rule of thumb: If it hasn’t been out of storage, your closet, or a cupboard for 6 months, it’s time to donate.
