We didn't get any new snow last night, but secondary/rural roads that didn't get fully cleared yesterday have refrozen overnight.

Give yourself extra time today and remember to always leave extra distance between yourself and other vehicles on icy roads.

GOODYEAR COURSE UPDATE: The Goodyear Industrial Maintenance Trainee course is cancelled 1/26/26.

The Goodyear EMR will shift to Virtual Learning on Schoology for 1/26/26. Expect communication from the Instructor on more details.

🔥🍳 Kitchen Safety Tip: How to Put Out a Grease Fire! 🍳🔥

If a grease fire starts while you’re cooking, DON’T use water!
Instead, remember these quick life-saving steps:

✅ Turn off the burner immediately – stop feeding the fire with heat.
✅ Carefully slide a metal lid or baking sheet over the pan – this smothers the flames by cutting off oxygen.
✅ Leave the lid on until the pan is completely cool – removing it too soon can let the fire flare back up.

🚫 Never try to carry a burning pan – you could spill the fire!
🚫 Never use water – it can cause hot grease to splatter and spread the flames.

Stay calm, act fast, and always keep a lid nearby when cooking.

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for our upcoming Getting Ahead program! This life-changing initiative is designed to help motivated individuals take the next steps toward financial stability, personal growth, and long-term success.
What is the Getting Ahead program?
Getting Ahead is a proven workshop series that helps participants investigate the causes of poverty and instability in their lives and communities and develop practical strategies for change. Over the course of 17 weeks, participants work together in a supportive, respectful environment to build skills, set goals, and take control of their future.
Why should you or someone you know apply?
By joining the Getting Ahead program, participants will:
Gain valuable tools to understand and overcome life’s challenges
Build a plan for long-term financial independence and personal development
Connect with others who are on similar journeys
Earn a stipend for their time and commitment
Become part of a supportive network that continues beyond the program
Referral Opportunity for Family Service Providers
We also invite family service providers, case managers, and community organizations to refer individuals and families who could benefit from this opportunity. If you work with clients who are eager to build stability, break cycles of poverty, and take proactive steps toward a better future, this program is an excellent resource to support their journey.
