Will you donate to the Dr. Martin Luther King Food Drive and help reach their goal of 40 tons of food??
"As Dr. King said, 'The time is always right to do the right thing.' The Dr. King Celebration Committee feels it is always the right time to help our local citizens who are facing tough times. This is our 11th year of conducting a major food drive to help our neighbors in need.
Our goal for 2022 is to collect 40 tons of food and personal care items to be distributed among the following eight local food pantries that support our community: Elgin Crisis Center, All Peoples Interfaith Pantry, Salvation Army, Food for Greater Elgin, Westside Church Pantry, Centro De Informacion, Bethesda Church Pantry, and Hanover TWSP Food Pantry. Just think, eleven years ago we did our first food drive with a goal of collecting 4 tons of food. Little did we think that our need would be ten times greater today.
