If you experience a power outage, please DO NOT call 9-1-1. Power outages are not emergencies unless there is an immediate threat to life or property.

๐Ÿ“ž To report an outage, contact your electric provider directly:

Albemarle Electric: 1-800-274-2072

Yesterday was our Christmas brunch for our residents. I want to give a huge thank you shout out to Towne South Church of Christ for helping coordinate and receive donations for our residents. Also to Berea Baptist Church for the amazing basket donations. The community really rallied for us and we appreciate it so much! Also a very special thank you to Carmelia WalkinginGreatness McCrey for everything that she did to make this day special for everyone. We are very lucky to have you!

We hope everyone enjoyed their day and has a very Merry Christmas!

Dear pet owners ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Letโ€™s keep Downtown Elizabeth City clean and welcoming! ๐Ÿพ City Ordinance ยง 90.30 requires pet owners to scoop the p**p immediately and carry a closable bag while walking dogs on sidewalks, streets, parks, and other public areas (and on private property without permission). A tidy block protects our waterways, keeps shoes clean, and shows pride in our community. Thanks for being a good neighbor and sharing this reminder!
**p

Note: Weโ€™re not prioritizing p**p over other important things, but it has gotten a little (A LOT) โ€œcrappyโ€ downtown and weโ€™re receiving multiple complaints from citizens and businesses. We acknowledge that some of our more active posts involve discussions of p**p (horse p**p, dog p**p), and we also acknowledge that there are many issues city-wide that are more important than dog p**p, however, we feel like leaving dog p**p on the sidewalk for someone to step in and/or on someone elseโ€™s property for someone else to pick up is still an issue that needs to be addressed. If you own a dog, you know you're supposed to clean up behind them.
