Housing crunch based on low inventory....what's the solution?
The New York Times reported:
"The housing crunch has been well documented in high-cost big cities, where rents and mortgages break the bank. Now it has moved into the rest of the country.
The culprit is too little housing, and it began two decades ago. In the three years leading up to the Great Recession, homebuilders started about two million homes a year. That number plunged during the crisis and never fully rebounded. Since 2010, builders have started about 1.1 million new homes a year on average β far below the 1.6 million needed to keep up with population growth. America is millions of homes behind, and it gets worse each year."
What's a solution? Explore modular housing options with me - there are some wonderful, spacious lots available to place a new modular home on. You can select your new home, have it placed and set - all for under $150,000.
Or purchase a renovated home in a location that suits you and benefit from extremely low taxes.
Modular home communities are not the trailer parks of the past. Privately owned and managed communities offer a lifestyle comparable to a suburban subdivision. Of course, all are not the same. As with all real estate, location matters.
