As a lifelong resident of the Susanville area, I truly appreciate the small towns, close-knit communities and abundant outdoor activities that are plentiful in Northeastern California.

My mother’s family lived in the Honey Lake Valley area for multiple generations. My father’s parents moved to Lassen County around 1944 and operated a 1400+ acre alfalfa and cattle ranch in what is now the Leavitt Lake Subdivision reaching over to Leavitt Lake itself and to what is now the Bass Hill Landfill. Although it is owned by another family, the cattle ranch is still in operation to this day.

While growing up, my parents built a vacation home at Eagle Lake where we spent weekends in the summertime with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. I also had the pleasure of participating in sports and 4H, raising and showing animals at the Lassen County Fair. My husband and I currently live on a mini-ranch in Janesville and enjoy tending our lavender farm and garden in the summer and cross country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter. We are blessed that a couple of our children live
locally and enjoy spending time with them and our grandchildren.
