Last night, our community gathered along the Elkhart Riverwalk to celebrate the lighting of “Hope, Happiness, & New Beginnings”, a stunning 35-foot public art sculpture by renowned artist Arlon Bayliss.

This unveiling was to celebrate a gift. A gift to our community. A gift to our downtown. A gift to every resident, visitor, family, worker, and traveler who will pass through this place for decades to come.

“Hope, Happiness and New Beginnings” speaks to possibility. It reminds us that every day offers a fresh start, and that we’re surrounded by unexpected beauty!

As people drive by, walk by, or stumble upon it purely by accident… the hope is that this sculpture becomes more than a landmark. It becomes a destination.

This privately funded “gift to the street” represents resilience, hope, optimism, and the power of creating places where people feel connected. As the lilies illuminated the sky last night during the celebration, we celebrated a “little” piece of Elkhart history together.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing this vision from concept to reality: generous donors, community partners, Arlon Bayliss, the team at BoMar industries, DJ Construction, the Community Foundation, Board of Directors of Elkhart Health & Aquatics, the team at the City of Elkhart, LBA Landscape Architects, contractors, and all who joined us to celebrate this special moment.
May this sculpture stand as a symbol of welcome, inspiration, creativity, and belonging for generations to come.

Help us welcome Brennan Chilberg to the weIMPACT team this summer!
Brennan is a rising sophomore at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he’s studying Finance and actively involved in the Undergraduate Research and Trading Club, Capital Markets Club, and IU Tennis Club.

Brennan’s interest in finance and investment management aligns perfectly with our model of investment in platform businesses so we can continue to reinvest in our long‑term social priorities and local community development.

We’re excited to share a debut artistic rendering of the next two buildings that started construction this week. Designed by the incredibly talented, Khoury Vogt Architects, award-winning architecture firm and the Town Architect of Alys Beach, Florida (30A).

Featuring 2-Bedroom apartments, ground floor small private offices, and a first-of-its-kind Pedestrian Mews (linear park) in the region, this will be unlike anything Elkhart has seen. All designed to elevate The Delta neighborhood experience, instill pride in our community, and continue to do things a little differently... more details coming soon.

Celebrating Architecture Week in The Delta

Building: The Riverbend — a cornerstone of growth and design in The Delta.

In 2018, Speck & Associates developed the Elkhart River District Master Plan to reimagine and revitalize the city’s downtown neighborhood in the Elkhart River District. The Riverbend was the first building completed as part of that transformative vision, and helping to set the tone for what’s to come.

Designed by architect Alex Gorlin of New York, this mixed-use Class-A office building embraces a modern industrial aesthetic, reflecting both strength and progress after the neighborhood's anchor, Elkhart Health & Aquatics, was completed.

The Riverbend is more than just a workplace, it’s the hub of connectivity for The Delta, featuring Amici & The Jackson Elkhart Rooftop and serving as home to Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Patrick Industries, Lake City Bank, RSM, Barnes & Thornburg, & Edward Jones - Cien Asoera.

Indiana Economic Development Corporation

Exciting progress in Elkhart with a recent ribbon cutting for The Delta, a new walkable neighborhood bringing homes, dining, and retail to East Jackson Boulevard.

Fueled by local private investment, a city contribution of $11.8 million, and READI support ($6.5 million from 1.0 and $9.5 million from 2.0), The Delta marks a big step forward for the River District project.

April 5th was 'National Dandelion Day,' and we're a day late, but maybe that’s fitting.
Dandelions have always been the little things we notice last.
This “ordinary weed” is anything but ordinary. It’s one of the first spring meals for hungry bees. 🐝 It’s a plant where every part is useful, root to flower.
Have you caught a glimpse of our new art sculpture by Arlon Bayliss in The Delta neighborhood yet?

The dandelion is symbol of resilience, popping up through cracks and showing up exactly where it wants to be.

So, in The Delta, we're celebrating the dandelion:..the survivor..the healer..the childhood wish-maker..the thing we overlook until we finally slow down enough to see it.
Maybe we could all use a little more dandelion energy in our lives. 🦋

What an incredible morning in The Delta. Today we officially cut the ribbon on The Penstock, The Clark, and Ivy Row in The Delta neighborhood, and we’re already more than 60% leased, with nearly half of our new residents joining us from outside Indiana. That momentum says so much about the future of downtown Elkhart.

A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to our incredible partners: DJ Construction, partners in the River District Development Co., IEDC, RDA, Lake City Bank, South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership, Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Rod and the entire City of Elkhart, and many teams of people behind the scenes who share their skills, knowledge, and energy making this a reality.

This work is truly collaborative, and we’re grateful for every person who helped make today possible.

Our work has only begun here in The Delta, there’s even more on the way with new food & beverage concepts, public art installations, local retail, plus construction already underway on our next two buildings. 2026 is going to be a year of intentional placemaking, progress, and even some elements of surprise!

The Delta is coming alive in a real and exciting way, and we’re honored to be building it together. Thank you to everyone who joined us today and who continues to support this vision.
