In honor of Armed Forces Day, this Saturday May 16th. Let's debunk some myths about VA Home Loans….
1. You can only have one VA Loan- FALSE
TRUTH: You can only use your VA loan to purchase a home for primary residence. When you want to move from the first home, you can rent it out or keep it as a second home. Either case you can still be eligible for a new VA loan for your new primary residence
2. VA rates are higher- FALSE
TRUTH: VA Loans are backed by the government, and government loans offer the lowest available rate on the market. As a “thank you” for your service, your VA Loan eligibility means you can save money over the life of your loan, simply by locking-in a lower interest rate.
3. All lenders offer VA loans: FALSE
TRUTH: Lenders must be approved directly by the VA to offer VA loans. Additionally, if your lender has in-house VA underwriting, the underwriter works directly with the lender. This means your transaction will be more efficient, making your home financing process faster.
