They just closed on an incredible piece of land in Ellenboro where they plan to build their future home, and it’s exciting to see that vision start becoming real.

Sometimes, you just have to change your scenery. ☕️💻

With every real estate transaction comes lots of legal liability, which means an abundance of computer work. And if you’re constantly meeting clients, showing properties, and running from appointment to appointment, chances are you’ve gotten behind on file work and probably have a BIC breathing down your neck over file review and missing documents. 😂 GUILTY!

And honestly, working from home doesn’t always help. There’s laundry to do, weeds to pull, and a never ending list of things that need your attention.

So this morning, I threw my computer in the car and headed over to Irma’s, a little hole in the wall corner food stand that never disappoints, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or supper. And their homemade desserts? 🤌🏼 SO good!

I figured if I got out of the house, grabbed some breakfast, and sat down somewhere local, I’d actually focus on getting my files in order.

While I was ordering, I noticed a guy standing off to the side looking at the menu and watching me. Once I finished, he walked over and said:

“We just moved here from New York and see this place is always packed and wanted to try it! What’s good here? You appear to be a local!”

😂 What in the world gave that away?

Was it the fried livermush biscuit? The sweet tea? Or maybe when I asked, “Can y’all put strawberry jelly on top of my livermush?” 😂

I can honestly say I’m 1000% proud to be a Christian. Proud to be an American. Proud to be a Southern girl. And proud to call a small county in Western North Carolina home. Even if I do get constant jabs over my “Southern draw” and the way I say things. 😉

Rutherford County, I love you, and I’ll forever call you home. ❤️

I come from a family of farmers who know what hard work is all about. They passed down a work ethic from generation to generation and taught me early that money doesn’t grow on trees! 😂

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for teaching me to truly earn everything I have.

My roots grow deep here. 🌱
