Builder Highlight ✨

Today I want to highlight someone who has built an incredible business from the ground up; Mike Muratore, owner and builder of JCM Construction.

Mike and his wife Jen started JCM Construction in 2016 with a simple mission: deliver exceptional craftsmanship with honest, reliable service. Since then, Mike has worked tirelessly to grow JCM into a respected name in Kittitas County and beyond.

From high-end finish carpentry to beautiful custom homes, large estates, remodels, and commercial projects, the quality and care put into every detail truly stands out. But beyond the craftsmanship, what stands out most to me is Mike himself. He is hands down one of the hardest working people I know. The long hours, dedication, integrity, and pride he pours into his work and his clients does not go unnoticed.🫶

I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to partner with Mike and represent JCM’s beautiful product, and it’s been amazing watching these projects come to life.

Even with all of their growth, Mike and Jen continue to pour back into our local community by supporting local organizations and projects right here in Ellensburg.

The Kittitas County market is definitely starting to feel more active and a lot more balanced than what we’ve seen the past few years.

Home values are still staying strong with the median sold price sitting at $550,000 year-to-date, which is up 9% from this time last year. At the same time, we’re finally seeing more inventory hit the market. New listings jumped 54% from March, which means buyers have more choices and a little more breathing room.

With more homes coming on the market, buyers are out there making moves. Pending sales were up 18% in April, which tells me motivated buyers are still writing offers when the right home hits the market! 💥

Inventory is also continuing to rise, with Kittitas County sitting at 5.3 months of inventory, up 20% year over year. We’re moving away from the ultra-competitive frenzy and into a market that feels healthier overall for everyone involved, thank goodness! 💪

And let’s talk about rates for a second… interest rates are actually lower than they were this time last year. We went from 6.94% down to 6.49%. That may not sound huge, but it can absolutely impact affordability and monthly payments for buyers.

Overall, this market feels more relaxed. More opportunities for buyers, strong values for sellers, and a little more room for strategy and negotiation again. Mother’s Day weekend in Kittitas County is looking pretty amazing 🌸☀️ From brunch and coffee dates to outdoor adventures and spring markets, there is so much happening around our little corner of Washington.

Spend the morning grabbing coffee and brunch with your favorite people, wander through the farmers markets and local spring vendor markets, participate in a local 5K, or head over to Spring Fest at Suncadia Resort. If you’re craving fresh air and sunshine, this is also the perfect weekend to get outside for a hike, river walk, or mountain adventure.

One of my favorite things about living in Kittitas County is how much community we have this time of year. There is truly something for everyone, and it’s such a fun weekend to slow down a little and enjoy it all.

Wishing all the moms out there a Mother’s Day weekend full of love, laughter, adventure, good food, and maybe a mimosa or two 🤍🥂 Special thanks to all who help put these wonderful events together.

Nothing excites me more than some good real estate stats; because behind every number is a family making a big life move.

The 2025 market rewarded intention over urgency. Sellers who focused on thoughtful preparation, strategic pricing, and strong presentation continued to achieve solid outcomes. Buyers became more selective, and while homes generally took a bit longer to sell, this reflected more discerning buyers, not a lack of demand.

What we saw in 2025:
• Buyers gained more selection and negotiating opportunity
• Competition normalized after several extreme market years
• Mortgage rates showed signs of easing
• Decisions became more thoughtful and strategic

For buyers, this meant the ability to evaluate options carefully and move forward with confidence. For sellers, success came from preparation, positioning, and smart strategy.

The market has shifted back to fundamentals, and historically, markets like this lay the groundwork for sustainable growth and opportunity.
