Here’s the truth: airlines and border agents don’t just look at your expiration date — many countries require six months of validity beyond your arrival. And with the U.S. updating its renewal process, more people are getting caught off guard than ever.

If your passport was issued when you were 16 or older and you’re now 25+, you might qualify for the new online renewal system. But the rules are strict.
