All the way at the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆, tucked into the woods along the northeastern edge of Europe Lake.

See those red arrows? ⬆️ That’s where our two cabins are being built.

But keep watching… the location is the best part. ❤️

As the drone pulls back, you’ll see Europe Lake surrounded by the beautiful and powerful Lake Michigan 🌊 — then look north for Plum Island and Washington Island in the distance.

We feel incredibly lucky to be building in this special little corner of Door County — and we can’t wait to share it with you. ❤️

It’s getting REAL!

Come take a walk through the property with us and see where our two cabins are beginning to take shape. We combined today’s construction views with our 3D models to give you a little glimpse of what we see when we look at these cleared spaces. ❤️

Right now it’s dirt, tire tracks, flags, and heavy equipment… but soon these spaces will become places to slow down, gather, relax, and make memories in Door County.

Designing every detail with purpose.
It may look like we’re just building a door in a 3D model… but even the smallest details matter.
For our cabin entry doors, we’re adding five panes of glass at different heights so guests of all height, whether standing or seated, can see who’s at the door… or catch a glimpse of the wildlife wandering by.

Creating the cabins in 3D before construction helps us experience the spaces before they’re built. We can test everything from door styles and sightlines to furniture placement and everyday usability.
Accessibility isn’t one big feature we add at the end. It’s dozens of thoughtful decisions made from the very beginning.

It has been 3 years since we purchased our dream property in Door County, Wisconsin on beautiful Europe Lake. We’ve worked our tails off to design the cabins, design the site and save every penny for the down payment. Many people have so generous with donations and prayers. THROW BACK THURSDAY. I can’t believe we started this process in 2022. This pic was taken at The Hugel Haus (closed and is now the White Pine Supper Club). Maria and I took much needed respite there after driving 10 hours in a the aftermath of a snow storm. We wanted to see the property in the winter before we purchased it. Looking forward to visiting the White Pine Supper Club in a few weeks to recreate the pic (minus the snow 😉) They say… good things take time. A classic reminder that patience and persistence are required to build anything lasting. ❤️

The exterior finishes for our small cabin are officially finalized. A smoky grey color meant to blend with the woodland. The smallest details were made with love. With two bedrooms, a sleeping porch, and one bathroom, this cabin is designed for a small family or quaint group of friends. Every choice was made with comfort, accessibility, and that cozy Door County cabin feel in mind. You'll soon catch me relaxing by the fire pit or stoking the wood-fired hot tub.
