The concrete has had plenty of time to cure, the foundation has been backfilled, and the new driveway is in place. With the groundwork behind us, the site is ready and we’re getting close to the fun part.

Framing is scheduled to begin soon and this garage will start taking shape quickly. Stay tuned!

A smaller project, but one with a big impact for these Bar Harbor homeowners.

We recently completed this new exterior stair system, creating a safer and much more convenient connection between the existing deck and driveway.

With the grade change and existing deck configuration, we incorporated two stair runs with a landing in between, along with new railings and continuous handrails throughout.

We’re really happy with how everything came together — and even better, the homeowners were thrilled with the finished project.

Homes of Acadia is currently working on several projects throughout MDI and the surrounding area, while also meeting with homeowners about upcoming renovations, additions and new construction.

A smaller project, but one with a big impact for these Bar Harbor homeowners.

Another project underway in Southwest Harbor!

Last week we took delivery of a full package of custom Marvin windows and doors from Hammond Lumber for one of our current renovation projects.

This project includes replacement windows, converting an existing picture window opening into a new patio door, and replacing a large second-floor slider. With some of these units weighing several hundred pounds—and some challenging access around the property—getting everything delivered and staged was a project in itself.

Installation is now underway, and we’ll be sharing more as the project progresses.

It’s been a busy stretch for Homes of Acadia, with several projects currently underway throughout MDI and the surrounding area. We’re also meeting with homeowners now about upcoming renovations, additions and new construction.

Getting closer...

Every addition starts long before the first wall goes up. Planning, permitting, excavation, and foundation work are all behind-the-scenes steps that make for a successful build.

We're excited to be getting closer to starting construction on this new garage addition, and we can't wait to watch it come together over the coming months!

We finally wrapped up a project we've been working on over the past few months in Southwest Harbor, Maine.

This project involved transforming two separate structures on the same property.

The first was a 100-year-old historic home, where our goal was to preserve as much of its original character as possible while incorporating thoughtful upgrades to modernize the space. The kitchen saw the most dramatic transformation, and the entire home was refreshed with a custom paint color called "Bar Harbor Beige."

The second phase involved converting an aging garage with very limited electrical service and no plumbing infrastructure into a fully functional one-bedroom efficiency apartment, complete with a new kitchen and bathroom.

This video offers just a brief look at some of the before-and-after transformations. In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing additional videos that take a deeper dive into each part of the project and the work that went into bringing it all together.
