U.S. foreclosures continue to climb—now rising at double-digit rates. Florida leads the nation, with one in every 1,829 homes receiving a filing in October. The state also logged the most foreclosure starts at 4,136. A foreclosure start is when a buyer falls at least 120 days behind on payment, and the lender starts the legal process of foreclosure.
