I often get asked about "falling Chimneys" in attics. Believe it or not these were actually built with a curve or a lean and is called a Witches Crook. Often done for aesthetics at the exterior, to move the chimney slightly for roof framing or to even rotate the chimney. Every house has a story of some sort if you look hard enough. Today's story was that who ever built this house had access to a LOT of stair stringers, which can be seen in the grooves to hold stair treads. They recycled and used these for the floor joists! Hope everyone is having a great week!

I've always noticed this grand house perched high up on the hill overlooking Big Flats and thought the views must be incredible! Today I got the pleasure to do the inspection on it, and it didn't disappoint! I even got to witness a few glider takeoffs!
