Hey all! Did you know....
...that our entire building is heated and cooled using geothermal?? Benefits of geo over traditional HVAC units include:

1. More efficient – upwards of 60 – 70% more efficient than conventional heating and cooling

2. Safer – no combustion = no carbon monoxide

3. No exterior equipment. No air conditioning condenser that would potentially be prone to hail damage/wind/ice/etc. Also makes it quieter outside.

4. More comfort! Geothermal units are a low and slow heat. They run for longer periods of time at much less energy. This means less hot/cold spikes in the air temperature. It also means you have more air filtration with increased air flow.

5. This additional run time is quieter! The geothermal units are 2-stage units. So most of the time, on part load, you barely know it is running.

6. Individual pumps. The loop circulating pumps are assigned to each unit. So if one person’s pump fails – all the others are still operational.

7. Good warranty! These geothermal units have a 10 year parts and labor manufacturer warranty allowance.

WHY ELY for my food/coffee/retail business?

Ely is a RAPIDLY growing community with a VERY small business presence, especially compared to our neighboring communities. The data in these charts demonstrate two very significant features:

1) A tremendous proportional customer base
2) Very little competition for business

This data simply compares population, median income, and the number of places in each town where you can buy prepared food (including restaurants, bars, and gas stations).

For instance, Ely currently has nearly TEN TIMES as many dollars to spend at our local food providers than do Solon, Mt Vernon, and Anamosa, based on the number of options available.

The citizens of Ely are hungry for options (literally and figuratively)!

Important to note: The Ely growth rate figure is an expected rate, based on the several hundred homes that are slated to be built in the next few years. These developments are on track to begin soon.
