New Neighborhood, Empire, Michigan Empire is an old saw mill town on Lake Michigan tucked within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. THE NEW NEIGHBORHOOD EMPIRE

This new neighborhood features 83 house lots and five communal septic systems gathered around a village green. The New Neighborhood is a 32 acre, ten year old development nestled in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It lies in the southeast quadrant of

the Village of Empire--where the scenic route M22 meets M72…. walking distance from Lake Michigan's sandy shoreline and the heart of the village.

New Neighborhood celebrates its street trees, here framing the neighborhood green while lining the sidewalks. These maturing trees, were relocated from neighborhood sites to save and repurpose them. Trees create micro climates, and provide shade, a sense of scale and protection to pedestrians.
