Term of the Day: Fixed Rate

A fixed rate refers to your mortgage loan. By having a fixed rate, the rate on the loan stays the same (is unchanged) for the duration of the loan.

This differs from adjustable rate mortgages.

Fixed rates make budgeting easier as the payments are always the same and are generally good for long-term homeowners. The cons can be that the loan might be harder to qualify for in some cases and may not be as beneficial for short-term homeowners.

It’s always a good idea to talk with your realtor and lender about your real estate goals to find out what loan might fit your needs best.

SD Humane Society Walk for Animals Event Info 🐾🦮

Come walk with me next Saturday, February 25, 2023 as we raise funds for animals in need! 🐕‍🦺🐾

Events will be starting at 7 AM for a pancake breakfast and registration! The walk itself will begin at 9 AM and Dog activities and the Vendor Village will continue until 11 AM.

Schedule:
7AM- Registration, pancake breakfast and entertainment
8:45AM- Blessings of the animals & Warmup
9AM- Walk begins
10:15AM- Dog Activities & Vendor Village continue until 11AM

Registration is $30 now until February 24th.
If you purchase your ticket on the event day it will be $40.

When you refinance, this means you replace the mortgage you currently have with a new mortgage that has more favorable terms for you. For instance some favorable terms would be: lowering the fixed interest rate, reducing payments over the life of the loan, changing the duration of time for the loan, switching the mortgage from a fixed rate to an adjustable rate or vice versa, overall obtaining a better rate or term.

This can be helpful for long time home owners or even first time home buyers as they address what their mortgage is going to be of the life of the loan. Understanding the options to fund the loan and why refinancing could be beneficial over time can help with determining the payment and term options.

When interest rates are lower, it’s a great time to refinance. So if you end up purchasing when rates are higher, you can consider refinancing when interest rates drop to help with shortening your term of payments and pay less in interest on the loan.
