Secret little oath to east beach in Saint Simons island. This island is sort of like a mix between Hawaii, Bermuda, and Paso Robles there’s nowhere in California that I know of except for in the north part of the state where the boat trees meet the beach. 🏖️

One of the most special women and mothers I know and I am so blessed to be on this beautiful island in Georgia with her and her wonderful husband who we always called Prince John! She is about to be a grandmother to 10! I have known her since she first went off to college a few years ahead of me. Love you Marcia.

Just off the coast of Georgia and a bridge away from Saint Simons island is this magical place called Jekyll Island, where the jungley forest meets the ocean: So the 🦌 deer and the 🦝 raccoons and fox squirrels 🐿️ coexist with seagulls and even 🐊 alligators. It felt like being on the jungle ride at Disney…only larger and very real. Such a gorgeous place. Can’t wait to show visitors in early August! I’m going to book a Clydesdale-pulled carriage ride around Millionaires Village (large southern vacation homes from the 1800’s that are now museums) The ride will take us under the mossy trees that lead out to a large wharf with live music where you can order the worlds BEsT shrimp & 🦐 grits. Ahhh 😌 I’m loving the south just like my mamma did.

Chris has been “batchin it” for several years. He had so many pictures in boxes and unmatched frames and little photo albums. I know it’s not very “techie” but I wanted him to be able to look at them every day. The more I get to know him, the more I realize what a wonderful father he was. And now he’s a wonderful grandfather, so full of love, respect, generosity toward his family. His has been so good in bri ging us together. I feel blessed 😇

The way the oak trees cover the streets of Saint Simons island is so magical and charming. The evening weather here feels like a warm hug. Families ride golf carts around the island & congregate in the little downtown area to get dinner or ice cream, to go window shopping or to walk along the pier while the sun sets. Some people are local but many are vacationers from all over the east coast. Life is slower here for sure, and that pace is so welcomed after so many years in the California hustle bustle. Here are some quick videos of a bike ride by the ocean, of the pier and of our new neighborhood.

I was packing up to move out of state and found some really cool old family pictures some Dating back to the 20s. The people on the beach are my mother and father who tried for many years to have children and had my brother and I late in life in their 40s. Dad lived through World War II where he was training to be a pilot. I lost them both at age 13 so finding these pictures was really special. Enjoy a little slice of the past.
