It’s funny watching everyone leave California for Texas to “save money” and then realizing they traded year-round sunshine, ocean air, mountain views, perfect weather, healthy lifestyles, and endless things to do for a bigger house and humidity.

It’s actually kind of funny how every single night in San Diego, we all collectively act like we’ve never seen a sunset before. Phones out, camera roll full, fully aware it’s going to look exactly like the last 200 sunsets we saved… and still not able to skip it (guilty).

But there’s a reason for it. Watching the sun drop into the ocean never really gets old. It’s one of those simple things that quietly becomes the best part of your day. For a few minutes, everything slows down, everyone’s looking at the same view, and life doesn’t feel quite as complicated as it did an hour before.

It’s easily one of the biggest perks of living here and one of those things you don’t fully understand until it becomes part of your everyday life. And once it does, it’s really hard to imagine living anywhere without it 🌅

Everyone thinks “sunshine and rainbows” is just something people say about Southern California and then you move here and realize it’s actually a pretty accurate daily forecast haha🥹

Like yes, we complain when it drops below 65 degrees and call it “freezing,” but in the same breath we’re watching the sun set over the ocean on a random Tuesday after work. You can grab a coffee, walk along the beach, and still have time to pick up your kids without ever putting on a real jacket. It sounds dramatic until you live it and realize this is just normal life here.
