If you haven't walked Camino Del Mar on a weekday morning lately, it's worth doing before you make any decisions about where you want to live next.
The Del Mar village corridor — from the Civic Center area down toward 15th Street — is one of those pockets that photographs well but feels even better in person. The scale is human. Coffee, the ocean at the end of almost every block, walkable errands, no freeway noise. It's genuinely low-key for a coastal stretch that commands the prices it does.
What a lot of people don't fully register until they're standing there is how compact and self-contained it is. You're not driving to the beach — you're already there. And for anyone who's spent years managing a large home in a car-dependent neighborhood, that difference isn't small.
Del Mar real estate in this specific corridor — condos, townhomes, single-level options west of the 5 — is a different category than the estate market that usually dominates the headlines about Del Mar homes.
I'm Paul, and I help people just like you move to Del Mar every month.
