Sometimes, the most meaningful community spaces begin with a simple idea.

We transformed an unused garage at College Terrace Apartments into "EL Garage"—a welcoming space where residents can connect, children can do their homework after school, enjoy a snack, and meet with our Community Organizer every Wednesday. The space is also shared with our neighbors at Colony Village Apartments, bringing both communities together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. Providing housing is important, but creating spaces where people feel supported, connected, and empowered is what truly builds community.

But what truly makes Mo unforgettable is her incredible sense of humor. Meet Dalila Perez, Talent & Onboarding Specialist at The Apartment Company.

With more than two decades of experience in staffing and talent acquisition, Dalila joined The Apartment Company seeking a new challenge and an opportunity to continue doing what she loves most—connecting great people with meaningful careers.

Over the past year, she has had the privilege of recruiting talented team members across multiple markets, supporting onboarding initiatives, and helping create processes that set employees up for success from day one.

What Dalila enjoys most about her role is building relationships. Whether speaking with a candidate during their first interview or guiding a new hire through the onboarding process, her goal remains the same: to help people feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.
