🚨 THINK YOU CAN’T BE SCAMMED? THINK AGAIN.
The California real estate market is hot.

So are the scammers.
Here’s how to protect yourself 👇

⚠️ 1. Be Vigilant. Be Skeptical.
If a stranger contacts you about your home, rental, loan, or “relief program” — slow down.
Pressure = red flag.

🪪 2. Use ONLY Licensed Professionals
Before hiring anyone for: • Rentals
• Home loans
• Foreclosure help
• Real estate services
Verify their license at:
dre.ca.gov
dfpi.ca.gov
No license? No deal.

💵 3. NEVER Pay Cash or Wire Money
Especially for deposits, loans, or “urgent” fees.
And guard your Social Security number like your life depends on it.

⛔ 4. Never Pay Upfront for Loan or Foreclosure Help
If they ask for money before doing the work — it’s likely a scam.

📄 5. Never Sign What You Don’t Understand
• Don’t sign blank documents
• Don’t sign agreements you didn’t read
• Don’t sign loans or rentals you can’t afford
No matter how “urgent” it feels.

🎭 6. Professional Does NOT Mean Legit
Scammers can advertise anywhere — TV, radio, internet, social media.
Nice website ≠ licensed expert.

🏠 7. Never Transfer Your Home to “Save It”
If someone says:
“Sign it over and we’ll fix your credit”
Run.
And never give Power of Attorney to someone you don’t deeply trust.

🔎 8. Monitor Your Property Title
Just like you check your credit report.
Fraudsters file fake deeds more often than you think.
