✨Every year, the stories of solidarity and community support in the days following September 11, 2001, inspire me.

From strangers helping strangers to extraordinary acts of kindness, the connections made during those tragic days are a powerful and sobering example for us today.

On this day of remembrance, let's pay tribute to the men and women who compassionately and sacrificially gave of themselves to heal and restore their communities post-9/11 by flooding our communities with our love and support.

🏡It’s time to get your home primed and ready for a new season. Summer temps and rains can take a toll, so here are a few maintenance tasks to perfect for your to-do list this September: 👇

1. Change the air filters.
2. Check the exterior for areas where critters can get inside.
3. Clean out the garbage cans.
4. Clear out the gutters.
5. Inspect and clean the siding
6. Inspect your home’s windows and clean inside and out.
7. Repair leaky faucets
8. Schedule an HVAC maintenance appointment.
9. Test all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
10. Deep clean the refrigerator.

Mark your calendars! Our Shred-A-Thon is back on Saturday, September 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at JCSO Headquarters, 200 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden.

Bring up to three kitchen-size trash bags or bankers’ boxes filled with documents that contain your personal or private information. Please remove binders or other non-paper items before drop-off (paperclips, staples, and window envelopes are fine).

This event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged and benefit Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
