Fall is officially here in Douglas County! 🍁 And you know what that means—it’s time to make the most of every crisp morning, golden afternoon, and cozy weekend.

Here are three things I’m putting on my Douglas County fall bucket list:

🎃 A fall day at Lone Creek Farms in Franktown
Pumpkin patches, hayrides, a corn maze, family farm activities—and Harvest Glow Nights. Basically, everything you want in a classic Colorado fall day.

🥾 Castle Rock Trail Festival & Live BIG Run
Spend October 3 enjoying the outdoors with scenic trails, community energy, and a great excuse to get outside and take in the fall weather.

🍁 A scenic afternoon at Roxborough State Park
Golden aspens + those incredible red rock formations = one of those “I live here?” Colorado moments. Perfect for a crisp fall day outdoors.

And honestly, these barely scratch the surface.

Fun facts about Douglas County that deserve more attention. 📣

You could live here for years and still have no idea that Highlands Ranch was once home to a cheese ranch, Louviers was built around a dynamite factory, or that Castlewood Dam once sent an 11-foot wall of water toward Denver. 😳

Basically, there’s a lot more to Douglas County than meets the eye — and plenty of bragging material for the locals. 😉

In Detroit, at United Wholesale Mortgage today, learning the mortgage loan process.

Not the surface stuff. The actual mechanics of how a loan gets built, what moves a payment, and things most people never get told about.

Twenty-three years in, and the thing that still changes outcomes most is the math nobody explained to you.

So I’m here taking notes, and the people I work with get to skip the learning curve.

Most of the people I work with right now are not moving because they want to. They are moving because something in their life changed.

A relocation. Another child. A parent who needs to be closer. A first home. A downsize that is overdue.

So I will say the quiet part: if you do not need to move, you probably will not, and that is a reasonable decision.

But if life has handed you a real reason, the question is not whether the market is perfect. It is what the numbers look like for your specific situation. Sometimes they are better than people assume.
